I can hear my daughter singing now:
“My God is so BIG
so strong and so mighty
there’s nothing my God cannot do
for YOU!”
Isn’t our perspective like that too, and rightly so? God is powerful, all knowing, mighty, glorious, and our salvation. He has always been and will always be. How much bigger does it get?
We forget sometimes that God specializes in small too.
Consider with me:
- At creation, God started with nothing and made everything. He used the mundane {dust and dirt} to create life.
- Jesus called 12 ordinary men to spread his message and change the world. Men unschooled and unnoticed, and not worthy of stages, lights, or book deals.
Why do we wonder if God can use our seemingly insignificant lives for his glory?
Today, let’s embrace the small.
Let’s remember that the key to a strong relationship with the Lord is FAITH.
Not lot’s of faith. Not faith like Abraham (although that’s nice too). Not faith like your neighbor down the street or the woman singing next to you in church.
Instead, God calls us to start with faith like a mustard seed. Offer him the tiny black speck in the palm of your opened hand and watch him do the impossible, moving mountains in your life!
Embrace the call of small faith and watch God use your life to change the world, one day of your seemingly small life at a time.

So true. Small changes can make a big difference!
It’s amazing how the insignificant becomes significant through God’s power…something I struggle to remember ALL the time. Wonderful post!
Absolutely, and it is definitely a challenge to remember at times. But His power is made perfect in weakness!
Did you write that in 5 minutes? That’s really good. I think God has been leading me to think small and that is just fine with me. Small things make a big difference in His kingdom.
Laura, thanks for the sweet words. Yes, 5 minutes on my phone timer! (not counting editing the picture and linking up)
You’re so right. Small things DO make a big difference in his kingdom!!
Such a great reminder that God can do big things with small people 🙂
Loved this but really loved how you ended… “Embrace the call of small faith and watch God use your life to change the world, one day of your seemingly small life at a time.”
Good stuff.
Have a blessed Friday.

Yes, He does specialize in the small. He tells us that if we “have faith as a grain of mustard seed” we can do might things in His name. He take what we deem as small and maybe even irrelevant to change a heart. Thanks for the reminder.
This is a lovely post! Thank you for blessing my Friday!
Thanks for this post! It’s a great reminder. Going to practice embracing the small! God bless you!
Had to come visit 🙂 Loved these thoughts. I am now thinking there truly may be no such thing as a “small” call. In His eyes, each call is big and truly matters. So grateful you shared!
Thanks for sharing this great faith reminder at Friendship Friday! Sometimes, with all that’s going on around me, I forget what God can really do!
I love this post, especially in a season where I’ve been shrinking back and feeling small. And that’s a beautiful place to be. Thank you for reminding me that God uses small in big ways. Blessings!
So thankful we worship a big God who works in ways both great and small. Thank you for sharing at Fridays Unfolded!

Great post, LeeAnn! This is the 2nd one I’ve read today that focused on “small things” – God must be trying to tell me something 🙂
So glad I stopped by. Loved reading your perspective that God specializes in small too. Blessings, Mary!
