Earlier this week we talked about the importance of planting the seed of God’s Word in our homes. One of the keys to this found in Deuteronomy 6:6-9 is filling our homes with representations of God’s Word.

I don’t know about you, but when I pack my daughter’s lunchbox for school, I like to fill it with something that reminds her of home. Usually this includes a fun napkin and a little dessert she knows is just from mom. Even though she’s just learning to read, sometimes I’ll add a little sticky note with the simple words “I love you, Mom.”

Unless you homeschool, your school-aged children are most likely away from you for up to 7 hours a day. Add in meal time, homework, and after school activities and our time to impress God’s Word on their hearts is limited.

Adding scripture cards to your child’s lunchbox is an easy way to remind him or her of key truths you’re already teaching at home. 

Today, take a minute to print these out, cut them, and add them to your child’s lunchbox this week. Remember, we’re not aiming for perfection, just progress.

Ideas for using Scripture Lunchbox Printables:

• Print these out on regular copy paper. Make several copies, then cut & put them with your lunch supplies so they’re “grab and go.”
• For the more crafty type (this is not me!), print these out on card stock and laminate them so you have one set to rotate through.
• Choose one verse to focus on for the week or month. Print an extra copy & tape it on the wall near your breakfast area. Have the whole family memorize the verse. Then include the same card in your child’s lunchbox.
• If you homeschool or your children are too young to be packing lunchboxes, put these in places where your children can see them multiple times a day, on their eye level. Focus on one scripture a month or a week, depending on the age of your children.
