You Are Loved Beyond Measure {Sunday Scripture}

July 27, 2014 By LeeAnn G. Taylor

On this day of rest, may you settle into God’s presence and seek His face, allowing Him to fill you to overflowing. Let your guard down a bit and soak up the truth of His passionate, expansive love for you.

Remember your strength comes from His word, the roots of your faith, and commit to making it a priority in your life this week.

As you offer your broken pieces and allow Him to craft your life into a work of art, His masterpiece, this is my prayer for you today:

I ask that he will strengthen you in your inner selves from the riches of his glory through the Spirit.

I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith.

As a result of having strong roots in love, I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers.

I ask that you’ll know the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will be filled entirely with the fullness of God.

Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always.

Amen.

Ephesians 3:16-21

Digging Deep Roots & Living in the Light {Worship Wednesday}

July 23, 2014 By LeeAnn G. Taylor

Sometimes we forget.

Not the kind of forget where you head to the grocery store without a list (again) and run in for a couple of things but forget the milk…even though your 5 year old reminded you that she doesn’t like to eat dry cereal and mommy, would you please please please get milk.

No, not that kind of forget.

The kind of forget where we live out life separate from what’s true. Where our reality and our perspective totally and completely misses the mark of the truth.

And the result? We end up grasping for the light and living instead in the darkness.

Sometimes it happens only for a moment and our minds swirl with untruths that scatter our thoughts and erupt into frustration or outright anger. Other times, well, we live life like the truth doesn’t exist at all.

And friends, living life outside of God’s truth, outside His protective covering, well it surely doesn’t make for a joy-filled life.

And yet we try to figure out life on our own, seeking solutions in the next self-help book on Amazon or our friends on Facebook or the magazine on the rack in the grocery store checkout line.

But what if the solution to our longing is right in front of us?

Proverbs 119 tells us to hide God’s word in our hearts and when we do, His word will lead us into truth.

So today, dear friend, I’m sharing some truth as we seek to plant deep roots in God’s word so our lives will be lived out in the light of His truth instead of the shadows of the darkness.

“LORD, there is no one like you!

      For you are great, and your name is full of power.”

Jeremiah 10:6

And so, we read truth. Take a moment to soak it in.

It’s God who is great. It’s God who has the power in our lives. There is no one like Him. There is no need to seek power and truth in other places. It He who teaches us, corrects us, and guides us into truth.

Great Are You Lord from All Sons and Daughters {LIVE}

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

Sunday Scripture: God Holds Your Hand

July 20, 2014 By LeeAnn G. Taylor

He’s turned 2, that age when “I do it!” is heard more times than I pick up toys from the floor on a typical day. {in case you’re wondering…that’s a lot!} His normal modus operandi is to charge forward in life, feet ahead of him at times, full speed ahead.

On this day though, he grabs my hand…and the handrail. We’re in a new place and he’s unsure about the steps and the rocky gravel below. I’d offer even that he’s a little scared of the path ahead.

But holding my hand?

He’s willing to try something new, knowing that I’m there to steady his walk, unwilling to let go and allow him to stumble.

holding handrail

And this, like so many other pictures of His greatness God gives us in the everyday, is a reminder of God’s love for us as our Father.

So why, dear friends, do we flail in the unknown, uncertain places of our lives?

Instead of grasping God’s outstretched hand when we’re afraid of the path ahead, we, in our own fleshly wisdom, march down those uncertain stairs, determined to do it on our own, but wobbling and fearful the whole way down.

Holding God’s hand, we can release fear and walk confidently forward, even in the uncertain places. {Isaiah 41:13}

Today, let’s instead remember God’s faithfulness to stand with us in the hard times {and the good ones too!}. He offers His hand and reminds us we have nothing to fear. As our creator and our daddy, He’s here to help us on the journey. We just have to take His hand and walk the path laid in front of us.

Reflect on the truth shared in Isaiah and be encouraged of God’s presence in your life today and everyday.

Isaiah 41:13

For I am the Lord your God,
    who takes hold of your right hand
    and says to you,
    Don’t fear; I will help you.

Sunday Scripture: Calm For Your Fears

July 13, 2014 By LeeAnn G. Taylor

Today, may you remember God’s deep abiding love for you.

Remember that He lives among us, showing his power as a mighty savior.

Remember that He delights in you. Delights. Like a father tossing up his child and catching her as she falls gently back into his arms.

You are precious.

And with His love, He will calm all your fears. ALL your fears!

With His love, He will calm all your fears. Zephaniah 3:17

Rest in His presence, His pleasure, and His peace today.

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. Zephaniah 3:17
